Nerea Martí touched the podium with her fingers, but finished off a very positive weekend in Zandvoort. The Spanish has stayed close to third position, managing to be fourth and maintaining the position that it won this past Friday in the classification of this new appointment in the Netherlands. But, despite squeezing the full potential of his car, he could do nothing to reach the fastest of this championship. Alice Powell won the race, taking her third win of the year ahead of world championship leader Jamie Chadwick.
Although it was Kimiläinen who started from pole, his pace was not enough to repeat the victory he achieved in Belgium. The Finn was being stalked by Powell from the start of the test, until twenty minutes after the start of the test, he passed her shamelessly to win her third trophy. However, it was not easy for him either, Chadwick, who followed the wheel as he passed Kimiläinen and took second place. She tried to pressure the world leader to force a mistake from Alice, but the British knew how to do the same to cross the checkered flag first with three seconds of advantage over the leader of the championship.
Behind that fight for third position was also tightening. Nerea Martí signed a good start at the beginning of the event that helped her stick to her rivals, reaching the end of the race very close to Kimiläinen to get on the podium. However, the fight went to three because, in addition to the Spanish and the championship of the race at Spa, Jessica Hawkins also wanted to have her chance to get into the drawer. Things stabilized more towards the end of the event and Martí returns home with a fourth place, entering less than a second and a half behind the Finnish. The Spanish remains fourth in the championship with 41 points, 50 behind Chadwick.
Belén García saves points
Nerea Martí was the best of the Spanish, but not the only one to score. Belén García sweated hers to get to be in the Top 10 of this first race in Zandvoort. The Spanish had a good start to the race, where she was able to recover a few meters and place herself in eighth position of the race. From there, she engaged in a continuous fight with Abbi Pulling, who she overtook to place seventh.
However, the British managed to find the gap in the last bars of the race to snatch the place from Belén García who, despite trying to contain her, had to give up. Marta García, podium in the last round of Belgium, could only be eighteenth, losing positions without explanation, until staying at the end of the grid.
