PCB Chairman Slammed by Kamran Akmal Over Pakistan's Poor Performance

Pakistan’s former wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has lashed out at PCB Chairman Mohsin Raza Nakvi. Akmal said if the Pakistan team doesn’t improve its performance in the next few months, Nakvi should step down as chairman. The Pakistan team is currently on a New Zealand tour, where they have lost both the T20 and ODI series.

On his YouTube channel, Akmal criticized Nakvi, saying, “This is shameful. The PCB chairman should think about it – if he can’t control things, he should resign. Don’t tarnish your reputation. If you don’t want to resign, try to improve the team’s condition.”

The Pakistan team’s New Zealand tour started on March 16. They played a five-match T20 series, winning only one game and losing 1-4. Then, a three-match ODI series began, with New Zealand taking an unbeatable 2-0 lead.

Pakistan’s poor performance has been going on for a while. Senior players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi have faced constant criticism for their poor show. As hosts, Pakistan couldn’t move beyond the group stage in the 2025 Champions Trophy, failing to win a single match.
