First place in the East, for the Bucks. Those from Milwaukee not only secured the place of highest honor in their conference but in the entire competition. No one will improve your record. For a team that was considered the top seed before the start of the season it sounds logical. Against the Bulls, they had to fight until the last quarter, in which the Chicagoans lost ground by scoring only 16 points, but they won. Portis (27) and Lopez (26) were the best in another night without Giannis. The worst news, confirmed by Mike Budenholzer, has to do with Khris Middleton, who seems to have exacerbated the knee injury he has been carrying since last season and will keep the fans on edge until he heals.
PELICANS 138 – GRIZZLIES 131
First place in the West, for the Nuggets. The defeat of Memphis in overtime to which the Pelicans took them has left the way clear for those from Colorado, without playing this day, to secure first place. In the match, a crucial victory for Green’s men to get fully into the fight to enter the top six when they seemed ruled out of it. Jones (35), McCollum (31), Murphy (30) improved Ingram and other teammates to establish themselves as a reference trio. The Pels allowed themselves to tie when they led by six with 11 seconds remaining, but they fixed it in extra time. Santi Aldama withdrew after seven minutes due to a hyperextended elbow.
PISTONS 108 – NETS 123
Bridges (26), despite a very bad 2/11 in triples, was the top scorer for the Nets in their visit to Detroit on Wednesday. A game that lacked significance only for the locals. Brooklyn adds 44th and is located two above the Heat and three below the Knicks, keeping them in sixth place in the East.
HAWKS 134 – WIZARDS 116
The Hawks take the lead to, within the ‘play-in’, position themselves eighth instead of ninth or tenth and thus have a clearer option for classification. It is the third in a row for those of Snyder, who has fallen on his feet in the team. Uncomplicated match in which Young (25) or Collins (23) shone. DC’s best was center Daniel Gafford, with a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds.
CELTICS 97 – RAPTORS 93
Brogdon (29) again led the Celtics in a game in which Tatum was absent but Jaylen Brown and Robert Williams returned as part of Mazzulla’s logical rotations before the end of the season. The Canadians lacked success in the line of three, where they signed only a 6/33 that was useless. Achiuwa cut the deficit to two with twelve seconds left, but Malcolm missed neither of his two shots on the personal and the win stayed in Boston.
PACERS 129 – KNICKS 138
The Knicks did not fail to go to the field of an already eliminated team. A never-before-seen killer trio was formed in Indiana: Quickley (39), Grimes (36), Toppin (32) and an incredulous face from Thibodeau to so easily settle a clash without Randle, Brunson and RJ Barrett. That is that there is a team. The locals had eight players with double figures, but the defense left a lot to be desired.
