NBA: French Sekou Doumbouya engages with Los Angeles Lakers

French winger Sekou Doumbouya signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, the NBA franchise announced on his twitter account.

The 20-year-old, selected in 15th position in the 2019 draft by Detroit, will therefore settle down halfway between the minor league (G-League) and the NBA, after a hectic summer.

Transferred from Detroit to Brooklyn a few months ago, he left the Nets in October as part of a trade with the Houston Rockets, who did not retain him.

In California, the young Frenchman will try to launch a career that is struggling to take off in the United States. In two seasons with Detroit, he is running 5.6 points and 2.8 rebounds for 17.3 minutes per game on average.
