National Police begins cycle of recreational activities in the Capotillo sector

A cycle of sports and recreational activities, with the aim of strengthening relations with the community, an initiative carried out in coordination with the National Drug Council (CND) was initiated in the Capotillo sector, of the National District, under the guidelines drawn up by the director General of the National Police, Major General Eduardo Alberto Then.

Representing Major General Alberto Then, Colonel Jacobo Mateo Moquete, commander of the institution’s Sports Department, was present, who, in turn, gave a talk entitled “Police Proximity Through Sports”, with the aim of encouraging children and youth from different sectors get involved in healthy activities that keep them away from bad influences.

The activity, carried out together with experts from the CND, took place at the Salomé Ureña Educational Center, in the Capotillo expansion, in the National District. In this scenario, the Anti-Gang, Domestic Violence, C2 command and the Sports Department spoke with children and adolescents from the Holy Land Club and exchanged impressions with sports leaders in the sector.

"The cycle of prevention and guidance talks through sports is a guideline from our director, Major General Eduardo Alberto Then, so that children and adolescents receive the appropriate guidance so that they do not fall into conflict with the law."Colonel Mateo Moquete explained.

Likewise, the senior officer said that the National Police has focused on preventive and guidance plans for children and adolescents, as well as for the general population, through activities that are coordinated with the leaders of sports clubs in different parts of the country. country.

"We see this participation of the Police as very significant and the support they are giving us. Really, I know that it is going to have a great impact for this society, for Capotillo, because as the commander (Mateo Moquete) said, ´sport is a column before a society so that crime stops´, for that we are very grateful to everyone your", expressed the young athlete Armando Agüero.

While Mr. Danny Pérez, leader of the Tierra Santa Capotillo Sports Club, thanked the support provided by Major General Alberto Then, and the other police agencies immersed in plans and projects of this type for the benefit of children and youth through of sport.

The Police reiterates that this action is part of the guidelines of Major General Alberto Then, since it is of great interest that the sports leaders know the police commanders of the areas where the talks will take place, for which the Colonel Leonardo Díaz Toribio, Commander of C2, where Capotillo belongs, and other sectors where orientation tasks will be carried out.
