NASA Artemis-1 Launching: aThe US space agency NASA has announced to postpone the launch of its rocket to the Moon next week due to the threat of a storm. The storm, currently centered in the Caribbean region, is expected to intensify further in the coming days. This is the third delay since last month for an unmanned lunar-orbiting test flight. This is a hugely ambitious mission after NASA’s lunar mission half a century ago. The last launch was delayed due to a hydrogen fuel leak and other technical issues. Hurricane Ian, currently centered in the Caribbean region, is expected to intensify by Monday and make landfall on Florida’s Gulf Coast by Thursday.
Will try to launch on October 2
It is expected to affect many parts of Florida, including NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. NASA decided to postpone the launch on Tuesday due to meteorological uncertainties. NASA officials will decide on Sunday whether to remove the rocket from the launch site. If it is retained at the launch site, an attempt will be made to launch it on October 2.
Launch may be postponed till November
If there is a delay even then, its launch program may be postponed till November. The Space Launch System rocket is the most powerful rocket ever built by NASA. As part of the campaign, astronauts will prepare for the next mission in 2024 and two people will go to the moon in 2025.
