Munar will play the quarterfinals at the ATP 500 of Dallas

Jaume Munar has become the last Spanish tennis player remaining in the ATP 500 of Dallas after the round of 16. He achieved a significant win against American Ben Shelton, who is ranked 13 in the ATP and was the favorite, with a score of 6-2 and 7-6. On the other hand, Alejandro Davidovich lost to Italian Matteo Arnaldi with a score of 6-1 and 6-3.

Munar, a tennis player who is used to playing a busy schedule, participated in his third tournament of the year after the ATP 250 in Hong Kong, where he reached the semifinals, and the Australian Open, where he was defeated by Casper Ruud in the first round. Against Shelton, Munar did not lose his service and achieved two breaks against his opponent in the first set. In the tiebreaker, he performed very well with his service.

Munar’s next opponent will be Arnaldi, who defeated Davidovich. Munar and Arnaldi have played each other twice before, with one win each: Arnaldi won in the 2023 Godó tournament, and Munar won in the 2023 Mutua Madrid Open.
