“Mr. Macron, come to the Riquet bridge”, Tarak Sassi, of the Paris Anti-Crack collective, calls out the president

While Emmanuel Macron completes, this Friday, September 3, a three-day visit to Marseille, during which he presented a vast emergency plan for the city, Tarak Sassi, member of the Paris Anti-Crack collective, held to remind the Head of State that other areas of the country are also in pain.

Invited by Pascal Praud in l’Heure des Pros, this figure now well known to residents in the fight against the crack traffic which undermines Paris, notably spoke of the catastrophic situation of the 18th arrondissement of the capital, where drug addicts and children mix on the road to school.

“First of all, I want to address myself to Mr. Macron. Mr. Macron decides to go to Marseille, or ok, there is a catastrophic situation there but is Marseille the only city affected by drug addiction and drugs? No ”, first wishes to remind Tarak Sassi.

And to continue: “The Hauts-de-France, like Amiens, Lille or Roubaix, are also affected. And Mr. Macron says that in Marseille, there are no lawless areas? Mr. Macron, I would like to invite you to the Riquet bridge ”, then launches the association to the address of the President of the Republic.

Local residents on edge and on edge

The bridge on rue Riquet, sometimes called more simply “pont Riquet” is a road bridge in Paris, allowing the crossing of the railway lines of the Gare de l’Est. It is crossed by the rue Riquet, and marks the limit of the 19th arrondissement of the capital.

This axis is used in particular by several families to reach the neighborhood schools. But now, for several months, it has also become a landmark for many drug addicts and crack dealers.

Last Monday, the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, proposed the establishment of four care sites for drug addicts. But the residents, desperate, are not convinced by the solutions provided.
