Now, in the framework of the Turkish Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso has had a tremendous crack. He has portrayed the media favoritism in F1 to the British. He did it with a very telling phrase: “I’m the idiot from the first corner.” He has been ironic about how his actions are treated, especially in the Russian GP.
The controversy has only been generated when he is the protagonist. The Spaniard has warned that he was going to jump the limits to gain time at the start of the races and he has done so. This he suffered previously and in Russia he used it to his advantage, leaving in turn a clear message: “if the rest do it, so will he.”
Many hoped that he would vindicate himself, but the opposite happened, since he accused the media of a clear favoritism to the British. “Formula 1 is Anglocentric from its own conception.” It is the concept issued and on which he has suggested that the other teams will have to unite to avoid those preferences.
At the press conference prior to the Turkish GP, he took the opportunity to answer a question that bothered him a lot and he did so with irony. Why did you skip turn 2 in Russia? his answer was clear: “To confirm that when I do something, the behavior and the impact is different.” He also spoke of a similar action made by Lando Norris and that was of no consequence.
