A 30-year-old man lost his life after being shot five times in the Casabó neighborhood of Montevideo on Friday morning.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Senegal and Lituania streets, where the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds. According to available information, the victim received one shot to the mouth and four shots to the chest.

The police received reports of the shooting at 7:00 am and promptly responded to the scene. The victim was rushed to the Cerro hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Investigations have revealed that the victim had a history of run-ins with the law, with five prior criminal records. He had been released from prison just a few months prior to the incident.
