Indian women’s cricket legend Mithali Raj has retired from international cricket. Mithali, who made her ODI debut in 1999, said goodbye today to her 23-year international career. Mithali achieved many accomplishments in a 23-year career. She is the highest running scorer female cricketer in ODI cricket. Her ODI career was longer than Sachin Tendulkar’s.

Mithali made his international debut in 1999. He played his first match against Ireland. At the same time, he played his last match against South Africa in Christchurch, New Zealand this year. Due to her excellent performance, she received the Arjuna Award in 2003, Wisden Leading Woman Cricketer in the World Award in 2017, Padma Shri Award in 2015 and Khel Ratna Award in 2021.

Mithali Raj is India’s top race scorer in ODI and T20. She is the only player to play in six ODI World Cups. She is the player to captain the maximum number of 24 matches in the ODI World Cup. She had beaten Australian Belinda Clark (23 matches) in the same year. At the 2017 Cricket Women’s World Cup, she scored 7 consecutive fifties. She is the first female cricketer to do so.

Mithali is the player who has played the most women’s ODIs (109 matches) in a row for a team. She has scored more than 1000 runs in the World Cup. Mithali is the first Indian female cricketer and the fifth to do so. She is the only female cricketer from India to score 2000 runs in T20 Internationals. Apart from this, she is the only female cricketer who has played for more than 20 years.

Mithali Raj has played 232 ODIs in his career. She is the only player to play 200 ODIs. Mithali’s highest score in Test cricket is 214 runs. She played this innings against England in the year 2002. She is the only Indian player to score a double century in the biggest format of cricket.

Mithali Raj played 12 Tests, 232 ODIs and 89 T20 Internationals for India. During this he scored 7805 runs in ODIs at an average of 50.68, 2364 runs in T20 Internationals at 37.52 and 699 runs in Tests. Mithali was also the captain of India for a long time.
