Hello Fevers. Again, due to the high amount of information flowing these days, I bring you a compilation of the main local and international news. Mambo!
* Punta Blanca Invitational Tournament. A new and very successful edition that this time was dedicated to Ing. Luis Alcántara and that had a massive participation and support from players and sponsors. Our recognition to Antonio Ramis, Angelina Taveras, Tomás Mercedes, Quino Montero and all the PB staff, because the event, in its fifteenth edition, was outstanding.
I celebrate that this is one of the few events that still remain in which pure golf is played, in stroke play (Medal) format, with two rounds and competing “like him”. A great event will be #thetournament that will take place next week with many innovations and additions, and that I know will be to the liking of the Fiebruses. Oh, it’s already full, so don’t even call me, because if you didn’t sign up in time, the bus has already left.
* How ugly about Sergio García. The Spaniard is still behaving like an idiot. He withdrew the BMW PGA Championship without giving reasons, and the next day he was watching a game in the US. The news has already come out that they are going to fine him. With these types of performances, García continues to show that he does not care about being a role model, especially for children. The guy doesn’t get a head.
* DR Open is coming up. The event takes place in Casa de Campo from the 2nd to the 7th of next month, and this year there is a great atmosphere, as almost 200 players will be at the event. I thank Casa de Campo for the invitation and from there we will be recording a super program and reporting daily.
* Did you see David Ortiz’s commercial for the LIV Golf Series? Big Papi stands out as an “actor” in that piece in which he welcomes the golfers who were to be in Boston the week of the event. For me it was a hit by the 411.
* Scottie Scheffler is the PGA Tour Player of the Year. An award that “was crazy” given the performances of the North American, who had an overwhelming year of competition. * September, October and November, the busiest months of golf.
Badly counted, 21 tournaments to November 30, many of them with multiple days of play, so the billboard is on fire. * Iberostar and Punta Blanca: two campazos. For me, two of the best in the Bávaro area (and in my Top 10 in the country). Ibero, designed by PB Dye, and Punta Blanca by Nick Price, are two gems that keep them in excellent condition, and also provide a challenging but fun gaming experience.
