The number of people coming to Bahrain began to increase. In 2022 alone, an increase of millions of passengers benefited from the facilities of Bahrain International Airport.
According to the Bahrain News Agency, the international airport welcomed 6.9 million passengers in 2022, an increase of 3 million compared to 2021, a 125 percent increase of the total number. However, the number of passengers received during 2022 is 29% less than the previous air traffic of 9.6 million in 2019.
Bahrain Airport Company reviewed the operational aspects of the airport in the meeting and discussed various topics including annual performance data.
Participants were told that aircraft traffic movements will increase to 82,000 in 2022 from 51,000 in 2021.
Cargo tonnage in 2022 is expected to increase by 17% to 379,000 tonnes in 2022. 324,000 tons of cargo service was provided in the year 2021.
