Miller, Calhoun drive in two, Rangers beat Phillies for 9th straight

Brad Miller hit a two-run single against his former team, and the Texas Rangers beat the Philadelphia Phillies for the ninth consecutive time, winning 4-2 on Wednesday.

Kole Calhoun drove in another pair of runs for Texas, including a tiebreaking RBI single in the third inning. The Rangers sentenced Zack Wheeler to his first loss in two months.

Cuban Adolis García and Calhoun opened the fifth inning with consecutive doubles. However, Calhoun was retired on the trails when he tried to turn his double into a triple.

The Rangers’ winning streak against Philadelphia dates back to the opening day of the 2014 season.

For the Phillies, the Venezuelan Odúbel Herrera 4-0.

For the Rangers, Cuban Garcia 4-1 with a run scored. Dominican Ezequiel Duran 4-0.
