Mauricio Báez and Águilas de Guachupita will meet in the Women’s Superior Basketball Final

The Mauricio Báez and Águilas de Guachupita clubs will play the grand final of the Women’s Superior Basketball Tournament of the National District, dedicated to councilor Liz Mieses as an option for the Seaboard Cup.

The girls from Mauricio Báez and Águilas de Guachupita qualified for the final last night after defeating their counterparts from San Carlos and San Lázaro, respectively.

In the first match of the day held at the San Carlos club headquarters, the Águilas defeated San Lázaro with a score of 70-63.

For the winners, the offensive Ángela Jiménez stood out with 22 points and 9 rebounds; Mary Coronado and Sugeiry Monsac with 13 points each, and Fernanda Moreno with 10.

While for San Lázaro Ashly Rojas added 17 points and 9 rebounds; Yadira Polanco 12 and 10 captured balls, and Yamilet Rodríguez with 10.

Mauritian

In the second game of the night, the Mauricio Báez girls, defending champions, beat San Carlos 78-64, qualifying for the final stage to face the Águilas de Guachupita.

Among the winners, Génesis Evangelista stood out with 27 points, Cesarina Capellán with 15 and Marielys Aquino with 14.

While for San Carlos Fátima Marte contributed 19 points, Julady Zapata 16 and Nurileysi Batista 13.
