Matthew Kuhneman has already declared himself a fan of Ravindra Jadeja. His Sheffield Shield teammates call him by the name ‘Jaddu’. When Kuhneman made his debut in the second Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test 2023, he had asked his favorite player i.e. Ravindra Jadeja for some advice, though Jadeja later told him that she would give him some important advice only after the series ended. . . In such a situation, when the last test in Ahmedabad was completed, immediately after that, Jadeja and Kuhneman had a long talk.
Kuhneman said in a conversation with the Australian Associated Press: “This conversation with him (Jadeja) lasted 15 minutes. He gave me some important tips. We talk a lot about spin bowling. Nathan Lyon introduced him to me. He (Jadeja) was very impressed with Nathan, Todd and my bowling game. When he said this about us, it was great to hear all of this from him.
Kuhneman said, “He gave me some good advice on bowling in the Indian subcontinent next time around and there was some advice that could be useful in Australia as well.” He is a very nice person. He told me that you can talk to me at any time, send messages on Instagram, so I would say that this conversation was very good.
Matthew Kuhneman took 9 wickets in 5 innings from three Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 matches. This was the debut series for him. He played the debut Test for him in Delhi. He was not very successful in Delhi, but in the Indore Test, he took 5 wickets in India’s first innings after expending just 16 runs. Due to excellent bowling from him, the Australian team was able to put pressure on the Indian team in the Indore test and was able to come back in the series.
