Marquinhos, the captain of Paris Saint-Germain and Brazil, is going through a tough time. His unborn baby has passed away. The news was shared by his wife, Carol Cabrino, on social media. She said, “I want to share something with you that’s not easy to say, but I’ve accepted what happened. My baby became an angel.”
Carol Cabrino posted an emotional message on Instagram, saying she knows many people have been through similar experiences. An Instagram embed from her post is available, showing her message to fans.
When Carol received the news, Marquinhos was in Argentina with the Brazilian national team for a World Cup 2026 qualifying match. They lost 1-4, after previously beating Colombia 2-1.
At a press conference, coach Luis Enrique was asked if Marquinhos would play this weekend. Enrique said, “In principle, Marquinhos will be in the squad and ready to play. I never comment on personal matters.”
A fan group from Paris Saint-Germain showed support for the player, saying, “The entire Paris Saint-Germain family is with you. We love you and send you all our strength.”
