Brian Anderson homered and the Miami Marlins beat the Washington Nationals 6-3 on Friday, whom they have beaten in nine of 10 meetings this season.

Miami, fourth in the NL East, is 26-39 against other teams while Washington sits in last place.

Jon Berti stole two bases and has 24, a figure that keeps him as the leader in the Major Leagues this season.

Keibert Ruiz homered for Washington, which is 6-25 against NL East teams and 29-50 overall.

The Nationals have amassed 50 losses in their earliest game since going 22-50 in 2009 after games on June 26.

Trevor Rogers (4-6) allowed one run and two hits in five innings. Rogers is 3-0 with a 2.25 ERA in three starts against the Nationals this season and 1.6 with a 6.58 ERA in 12 starts against other teams.

Tanner Scott pitched a perfect ninth inning for his eighth save in nine chances.

Washington starter Josiah Gray (6-5) took the loss. He retired Miami’s first six batters and then Anderson hit the lead off home run in the third inning.

For the Nationals, the Dominicans Juan Soto 3-1, two runs scored; Nelson Cruz 4-0; Maikel Franco 4-0 and Víctor Robles 1-0. The Venezuelans Keibert Ruiz 4-1, one scored, two produced; César Hernández 3-0 and Ehire Adrianza 1-0.

For the Marlins, the Venezuelans Jesús Aguilar 5-1; Avisail García 5-1, one scored, and Miguel Rojas 4-2, one scored. The Dominican Jesús Sánchez 4-1, one scored.
