Manchester City: the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo soon completed?

This 2021 transfer window is likely to be remembered. While Lionel Messi left FC Barcelona and joined PSG, and Kylian Mbappé is expected from Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo also has a good chance of a change of scenery. The Portuguese would even be living his last hours in Turin and would be close to joining Manchester City.

Stalled in recent days, his arrival in the north of England has seen a considerable advance. It would even be imminent. Eager to leave Juventus and Italy at any cost, one year from the end of his contract, the five-time Golden Ball has even already found with agreement the English club on a two-year contract and an annual salary of 15 million euros (two times less than in Italy).

But all is not settled yet. The two clubs still need to find common ground on the terms of the transfer. If no offer has yet been made, negotiations have started. And they block for the moment on the amount of the transfer compensation. City refuse to pay the 25 million euros claimed by the Italian club.

The two formations could however get along by including a player in the transaction. It remains to be seen which one. Manchester City offer to include Raheem Sterling, while Juventus prefer Gabriel Jesus. Discussions will continue to find a favorable outcome, but optimism is in the Portuguese clan. His transfer could even be completed over the weekend.

Cristiano Ronaldo would thus make his return to England, after spending six seasons with… Manchester United (2003-2009). It remains to be seen what reception will be reserved for him during the Mancunian derby in early November at Old Trafford.
