Madonna wants to buy Bored Ape NFT, but ‘too expensive’

Madonna wil Bored Ape NFT kopen, maar 'te duur'

Bored Ape #3756 is currently becoming on OpenSea offered for just over 800 ethereum (ETH), or $1.3 million at the time of writing. None other than Madonna, the singer and superstar, has her eye on this, she said in an interview.

“I was determined to buy a monkey and very specific about what I wanted: the monkey with a leather motorcycle cap and multi-colored teeth,” Madonna said. “I was told it was inspired by me and modeled after me, and it was bought by a woman who is a fan of mine.”

Madonna is specifically attracted to this Bored Ape because of the unique characteristics of the non-fungible token (NFT). The leather S&M motorcycle cap, the rainbow teeth and the ‘trippy’ skin are things the singer can identify with. Still, Yuga Labs, who recently came under fire, points out that the Apes are never designed specifically based on a person.

NFT just a bit too expensive for the superstar

Madonna also indicated that the current fan who owns the NFT is willing to sell it to her. Unfortunately, the superstar thought the NFT was a bit too expensive. Madonna, with a assets of $575 million and has sung about $1.2 billion over her career, so went for a slightly cheaper option. She bought the Bored Ape #4988 instead.

Madonna and non-fungbile tokens

It’s no secret that Madonna is a fan of NFTs. The singer also owns two World of Women NFTs that she bought for $13,000 each. She also minted an Otherdeed. This is a piece of land in the Otherside metaverse game.

Madonna has also released her own NFT collection in collaboration with the artist Beeple, Artist of the Year 2021. In this strange yet exclusive collection we could see a naked Madonna. Not only was she naked, she also gave birth to all kinds of natural objects or animals. It is therefore not very strange that Madonna now wants a picture of a monkey.
