Lula distances himself from Milei, demanding apology for ‘stupid’ comments

Brazil’s President Lula da Silva stated on Wednesday that he has not spoken with his Argentine counterpart, Javier Milei, and will not do so until Milei apologizes to the Brazilian people.

“I think he should apologize to Brazil and to me,” Lula said. “He said a lot of stupid things. I just want him to apologize.”

Lula emphasized his fondness for Argentina, noting that it is a country that is important to Brazil. He emphasized that the people of both nations are more significant than their leaders, who only want to live in peace and prosperity.

“If the president of Argentina wants to govern Argentina, that’s fine,” Lula said. “Let him not try to govern the world.”
