Lori Loughlin’s Prenup ‘Doesn’t Benefit Her’ in Divorce, Stamos Blames Giannulli

Actress Lori Loughlin and fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli are reportedly heading for divorce after 27 years of marriage. The couple, who married in 1997, signed a prenuptial agreement designed to keep their pre-marital assets separate.

However, a source close to the situation indicates the prenup may not significantly benefit Loughlin in the proceedings. Giannulli is described as still being "worth a lot of money." The source characterized Loughlin as "very kind" and not having "a single vindictive bone in her body."

Loughlin, 61, and Giannulli, 62, have already retained legal counsel. They are actively moving forward with divorce proceedings, although no formal legal action has been taken yet. Their separation was officially defined as a "separation" in a statement issued on October 2.

The couple has been living apart for several months. A second source told Us Weekly that Loughlin is "devastated" by the end of her marriage. People close to the pair were aware they had experienced a "really tough year."

This outcome is not a surprise to those in their inner circle. Sources confirm there is no chance of reconciliation, and a divorce is definite.

Giannulli has been seen dating since the separation, while Loughlin has not. He was reportedly seen with 32-year-old stylist Hannah Harrison. Harrison denied any romantic involvement, stating in an October 3 statement that she was meeting him for business related to Giannulli’s G/FORE brand.

Loughlin and Giannulli share two daughters, Bella, 27, and Olivia Jade, 26. A third source informed Us Weekly on October 10 that their daughters were not surprised by the split. They had observed their parents’ interactions over the past year and expected the separation.

The family reportedly views this change as more of an "adjustment" than a sudden breakup. Everyone is still adapting, but the transition has been generally smooth.

The couple’s marriage faced significant public challenges in recent years. Both were arrested in 2018 for their alleged involvement in the college admissions scandal. They were accused of paying bribes to secure their daughters’ admissions to the University of Southern California.

Initially pleading innocent to fraud and conspiracy charges, both Loughlin and Giannulli changed their pleas in 2020. They pleaded guilty to wire and mail fraud and were subsequently sentenced to prison. Giannulli served five months and two years of supervised release, being freed in April 2021.

Loughlin completed a two-month prison sentence and was released in December 2020. As part of their sentencing, they also paid $400,000 in fines.

John Stamos, Loughlin’s Full House co-star, recently commented on the breakup. Speaking on the "Good Guys" podcast on October 20, Stamos blamed Giannulli for the separation and the college scandal.

Stamos, 62, stated, "I’ve known her for 40 years. You can see through people after a few years." He described Loughlin as "a saint" and expressed being "devastated for her now." Stamos called Giannulli a "terrible narcissist" and affirmed he tried to support Loughlin during her marriage and the legal troubles.

Loughlin was previously married to Michael Burns from 1989 to 1996. Giannulli also has a 34-year-old son, Gianni, from his prior marriage to Chris Giannulli.
