Logitech Pop Mouse review: Versatile, silent button and emoji

Logitech is one of the leading peripheral manufacturers with noteworthy mice and keyboards. The latest is the wireless mouse Logitech POP, silent, with Bluetooth connection and three vibrant colors with a recommended price of €39.90, but we already found it on sale for €31.90 In Portugal.

It is a great mouse with a sensitivity of 4000 DPI, silent click (SilentTouch) and an autonomy of about 2 years according to the manufacturer, it uses an AA battery included with the Logitech mouse. The best of all? The colour, the build quality and the customizable keys, including a dedicated…emoji (which we can assign to another shortcut).

The Logitech POP mouse has a good build quality

Height: 104.8mm
Wide: 59.4mm
Depth: 35.2mm
Weight: 82 grams (good battery)

Logitech’s POP mouse is constructed of high-density plastic and when you pick it up, it feels like it’s well built for its price range. The plastic is strong with a rough texture to improve the gripthe feeling of holding and using the Mouse with your hand.

I do point out, however, the fact that we always feel the groove running across its body all the way down the side with our thumb and ring finger when using the mouse. This is due to the fact that the upper part of the mouse is detachable, but that feeling does not add to the comfort of use.

The coating on this quiet mouse is easy to clean and for those who suffer from wetter hands, this product will stay nice for long periods of use, as well as having an easy to clean surface when the occasion arises.

Colors are everything in this Logitech POP

Above we can see the three color schemes for POP Mouse, from Daydream (purple/green/yellow); Blast (yellow and black), as well as Heartbreaker (pink and red). The best of all? You can match the colors with the POP key keyboards.

The new Logitech POP Mouse is similar to the , but it’s taller and considerably more comfortable to use in everyday life. Briefly, the palm of the hand has a place to rest, unlike the Pebble model.

buttons: 4 – left/right click, wheel Commute with middle click, top button
personalization: Customizable top button with Emoji software

Like the Pebble model, the buttons are spaced apart, with a slight groove between them. However, this is complemented by a new button above the scroll wheel or Commute which, natively, opens the emoji menu, but that we can configure.

As the image above demonstrates, with one click we can open the emoji menu. Something that was useful during conversations and chats through WhatsApp, among other messaging and instant communication services.

That is, something that at first seemed perfectly superfluous, is not at all useless. Anyway, through the software Logitech Options (Free download) we can assign another function, another quick access shortcut by pressing this button.

The Macro button is originally dedicated to Emojis

When using the mouse, rest your hand on it and your index finger on the wheel. Commute, sliding back the indicator we can easily access the macro button. It was a welcome addition to such a compact mouse, perfect for traveling and with more color.

The top of the mouse is magnetic and removable.

This means that the entire top of the mouse can be easily removed to access the battery. This will be the only time/reason to lift the top or front of the mouse as it does not have the Logitech USB adapter/unifying device.

We can also appreciate the combination of colors with reflections in the interior, as well as the quality of construction. We have precise cutouts and well-crafted plastic. We can also see silent switches or switches with a nice click.

Logitech POP Mouse is a silent mouse

While color is vibrant, noise from mouse operation is minimal. In fact, we have two SilentTouch main buttons that are extremely quiet, but with a surprisingly pleasant and sure click for an affordable mouse.

We also have the scroll wheel or Commute which also works as a silent and soft silicone button. In addition, we have the macro button for emojis, this one with a more audible click and a cold and less pleasant plastic sensation.

Autonomy up to 24 months according to Logitech

For obvious reasons of time, we were unable to effectively determine the actual battery life of the Logitech POP Mouse wireless mouse. However, the company claims that one AA battery (included in the mouse) is enough for up to two years of battery life.

These are extremely positive values, well above average for a typical AA battery-powered wireless travel mouse. Now, two years from now, we will return to this article with a more accurate judgment on real autonomy.

Logitech Options software unlocks the full potential of the POP mouse

On a day-to-day basis the Logitech POP Mouse is quite competent, especially if we use the additional functions provided by the Logitech Options software. Is a suite room free software for Mac and Windows (PC) available for download.

There we can, for example, select the precision of the Commute – if we want a precise displacement (in stages), or a Commute free – infinite scroll. We can also set the address of the Commute to better reflect our usage pattern and preferences.

The scroll button is displayed in Zoom and Microsoft Teams

The best of all? We can set the wheel button Commute because, when pressed, enable or disable the microphone or camera/webcam in video conferencing applications. It’s a handy thing these days, with support for zoom Y teams.

This was one of the features that surprised me in Logitech POP, currently with two apps supported, but with the possibility of receiving support for other apps. Well, strictly speaking, there are three apps, the third one is WeChat.

The next software update may well bring support for certain actions with other applications, be it Photoshop or other software. For now it has real advantages for the most popular video calling platforms in 2022.

Logitech Options software gives us a few more features and information about the mouse, such as charge level, accuracy, speed, and direction of scrolling, among other options. If you have a Logitech mouse, we recommend Options.

Syncs with up to 3 devices thanks to Logitech Flow

This Bluetooth mouse can be used on up to three devices at the same time. All you need to do is have Logitech Options installed on these computers or tablets and enable this option. Then after connecting the mouse, just click the bottom button.

We find, at the bottom of the mouse, the on / off switch, the optical sensor, as well as the flow button to switch between synchronized devices. We can switch between three devices, that is, use the same mouse on up to three computers.

The best of all? The technology Logitech Flow It allows, for example, to copy and paste files between the three devices connected to the same mouse. We can simply drag and drop files from one computer to another, or use Copy + Paste.

This added technology makes the POP Mouse a very versatile mouse for its size and price. That is, it can perfectly function as a secondary or back for one power useror serve as a useful and multifaceted travel mouse.

Wireless mouse with 4000 DPI sensitivity

Sensitivity customization options are not many, ranging between 4000 DPI and 1000 DPI according to Logitech, through Options. We do not have a button on the mouse to switch between the degrees of sensitivity of its optical sensor.

However, for this product this omission is not detrimental. After all, for a lightweight, compact, and quiet wireless mouse, we expect it to work in everyday life, and when and if we want it, we have some customization power in Options.

Versatile mouse, fun to use and of course colorful!

Customization options are a plus for an affordable mouse like this Logitech POP Mouse, easily recommended for its good value for money. Anyway, it gets even better with the already frequent promotions in Portugal.

It is a good buy for up to 30 euros and, fortunately, there are already several purchase opportunities at approximate values. I liked the build quality and the (good) plastic finish with really fun, or at least different, color schemes!

The button dedicated to emojis has its uses and, if we want, we can assign it another function such as Screenshot, Play / Pause, Forward / Rewind, among many other direct access options that we can configure through Logitech Options.

What it may lack in additional buttons for heavy users, it makes up for in part thanks to Options. It is a light and very quiet mouse, with a pleasant and safe click, with theautonomy well above average – up to two years.

4gnews recommends the Logitech POP Wireless Mouse for travel, as a secondary mouse, or if color schemes are a deal breaker. It is a good and fun product that positively surprised us.
