Liverpool’s cover is set to replace Salah in the summer

Liverpool are eyeing Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo as a possible signing to strengthen their squad. The 24-year-old is considered a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah should the Egyptian decide to leave the club next summer.

Mbeumo had performed well this season before his injury, scoring seven goals and four assists in just 15 league games. His quality and experience in the Premier League make him an attractive target for the Reds, who are looking to strengthen their squad with a versatile player with goalscoring ability on the wings.

Mbeumo, in Liverpool’s sights

Salah’s contract situation, with links linking him to a possible move to Saudi Arabia, could open the door for Mbeumo’s arrival at Liverpool. With Salah’s contract running until the summer of 2025, Liverpool could be forced to sell him in the next market if an extension agreement is not reached, thus avoiding a free exit the following year.

Brentford’s potential relegation at the end of the season could make it easier for Liverpool to take over Mbeumo, as the London club sit 16th in the table. Should Brentford fail to stay in the Premier League, Mbeumo will look to continue competing in the top flight, which would prompt him to seriously consider the offer of joining a club of Liverpool’s stature.

Liverpool’s appeal and ambition as one of the world’s biggest clubs could prove crucial for Mbeumo. The French player will certainly be tempted by the opportunity to join a team with title ambitions and a passionate fanbase. In short, Mbeumo represents an attractive option for Liverpool as they look to strengthen their squad and maintain their competitiveness among English football’s elite.
