Liverpool are applying for a 120 million signing

Liverpool have gone in search of Joao Neves and the estimated €120m figure is increasingly in demand ahead of the summer. According to reports from O Jogo on Sport Witness, the Benfica midfielder has attracted the attention of several top Premier League teams, suggesting a potential battle between the Merseysiders, Manchester United and Chelsea for his services.

Joao Neves is in the spotlight with several top clubs keen to sign him ahead of the summer transfer window. However, Benfica remain steadfast in their stance, supported by a €120 million release clause in the player’s contract. Although speculation is increasing, the Portuguese club is unwilling to budge from its valuation.

Joao Neves, in Liverpool’s sights

Given previous sales that have shown that Benfica are determined to maintain their prices, as in the case of Enzo Fernández and Gonçalo Ramos, it seems that they will demand full payment of the termination clause to let Neves leave. Given the growing competition for the player, Benfica could even consider offering him a new contract with an increased clause worth €150 million.

For Liverpool, signing a quality midfielder like Neves would be a priority despite last summer’s signings. Given the acquisitions of Wataru Endo and Alexis Mac Allister, the club is still looking to strengthen that position. With the impending arrival of a new manager, Liverpool will look to attract players of Neves’ quality to strengthen their squad.

However, Liverpool faces strong competition for Neves. Other top clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester City have also shown interest in the player. With Manchester United one of the main rivals, Benfica are in an advantageous position and are ready to reignite the battle to sign the talented Portuguese midfielder.
