Lazio beats Inter with a controversial goal

A controversial goal led Inter Milan to lose their first game of the season on Saturday, a 3-1 loss to Lazio.

Felipe Anderson scored the winning goal in the final minutes as Inter central defender Federico Dimarco lay injured on the pitch.

The goal infuriated Inter, but the regulations indicate that the referee should stop the actions only when there is a risk of a major injury, and this was not the case.

Inter’s players were asking Lazio to get the ball off the field when Anderson deflected a rebound from Ciro Immobile’s shot.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic secured the three points for Lazio with a header in stoppage time, while Inter continued to lose focus.

Immobile equalized from a penalty after Ivan Perišic opened the scoring in the same way in the first half.

It was a bitter return to the Stadio Olímpico for Inter’s new coach, Simone Inzaghi, who led Lazio for the past five seasons after spending most of his playing career with the capital club.

Inzaghi admitted that “we lost our minds.”

“It shouldn’t have happened, because the referee can allow the actions to continue and there were more than 10 minutes left plus the aggregate. We should have kept playing ”.

Inter remained in third place, four points behind Napoli and two units behind Milan. Napoli host Torino on Sunday and Milan later faced Hellas Verona on Saturday.

Lazio, who advanced to fifth place, have been slow to adapt to Maurizio Sarri’s dizzying style, but they beat Roma last month and are becoming a dangerous opponent.

In another result, Ukraine’s Viktor Kovalenko – on loan from Atalanta – delivered an assist and scored the winning goal as Spezia came from behind to defeat Salernitana 2-1 and exit the relegation zone.

It is the first weekend in Serie A since stadium capacity increased to 75%.
