Lamborghini has produced the very last car from the famous Aventador series. The legendary automaker wants to celebrate by auctioning the sports car as a non-fungible token (NFT). Lamborghini announces this on April 5:
We are auctioning the world’s first supercar 1:1 NFT and the Last Aventador Coupé produced for the first time ever. Auction starts April 19 2022.@Krista_Kim† @steveaoki† @INVNTGROUP and @rmsothebys.

This Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae Coupé is also the very last Lamborghini ever that runs purely on petrol. The next batch of Lamborghinis will all be hybrid cars, and the automaker wants to celebrate that too.
The Lamborghini is also the very first 1:1 NFT of a supercar in the “metaverse,” the automaker reports. The NFT will be auctioned through RM Sotheby’s, which is the branch of the largest auction house in the world dedicated to the auction of cars.
NFT in collaboration with Krista Kim & Steve Aoki
For the NFT, Lamborghini collaborates with artists Krista Kim and Steve Aoki. Kim creates the visual artwork for the NFT while DJ Aoki creates a soundtrack for the NFT. The NFT also comes with a virtual meeting with these celebrities, a private tour of the Lamborghini museum and previews of the new Lamborghini models. Apparently there was no real meeting.
“Lamborghini and the NFT community are a great fit because we share many values. We are both young innovators, looking for unexpected projects and technological solutions. This project is very special for us because it is a real first, a path that no one has ever walked.”
Said Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “Lambos” are a somewhat controversial item in the crypto world. A few years ago it was popular for lucky early investors to buy a Lambo to show off their wealth. A lot of people thought that was very tasteless.
The auction will start on April 19. Lamborghini reportedly expects to raise as much as $5 million. It is not the first NFT auction ever from Lamborghini. In February, the carmaker auctioned its “Space Time Memory” NFT collection.
