Lambán and Alejandro Blanco’s phrase about the candidacy: “It’s horrendous”

The president of Aragon, Javier Lambán, has described as “horrendous” the affirmation of the president of the Spanish Olympic Committee, Alejandro Blanco, that not everyone can benefit in the candidacy for the 2030 Winter Olympics between Aragon and Catalonia.

This was stated in the control session in the Cortes de Aragón in reference to an interview with Blanco in “El Món a RAC1”, in which Blanco affirms that what the technical commission did is look for a candidacy in which being able to organize the best possible games prevails, and not one in which “everyone benefits; that is impossible.”

The president of Aragon has stressed that he promised to promote a candidacy as long as it was on an equal footing with Catalonia, and that he has always defended a candidacy on an equal footing with Catalonia and with a balanced distribution of evidence, in accordance with the commitment that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the COE acquired with him.

In view of the latest events, Lambán sees “some positive evolution” when the Secretary of State for Sport, José Manuel Franco, admitted this Wednesday in Huescathat there can hardly be a candidacy “if it is not balanced”, although he has insisted that Blanco’s statement seems “absolutely horrendous”.
