LaLiga requests sanctioning powers for the Vinicius Case

Vinicius asked for sanctions for racist insults and LaLiga wants to give them. To do this, he has requested to have the power to penalize these incidents, something that right now only the Competition Committee has, an organization that has not yet closed any stands from which the Brazilian star has been verbally attacked.

“LaLiga will request to have more sanctioning powers, with the aim of being more agile and effective in the fight against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport, where LaLiga has been leading the detection and denunciation of this behavior in football stadiums for years, but feeling impotent when observing how their denunciations end ”, announces the employers’ association.

LaLiga wanted to emphasize its discomfort at the lack of sanctions for racist insults: “Despite its intense and continuous fight against violence and racism to the extent of its powers (currently, according to Spanish law, limited to detect and denounce the events that occur), LaLiga feels tremendous frustration due to the lack of sanctions and convictions by the sports disciplinary bodies, public administrations and the jurisdictional bodies to which it is reported”. And he adds: “Given this serious situation, in the coming days LaLiga will formally request that Law 19/2007, of July 11, against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport and Law 39/2022, of December 30, on sport”.

LaLiga in this way wants to have the power to totally or partially close a First and Second stadiumthe prohibition of access to it in the case of members/subscribers and the imposition of economic sanctions.
