Better salaries in 2022

“A salary increase is expected by 2022 for people with technology skills, for example, and in the first lines employees who have highly developed skills and competencies, such as emotional intelligence, adaptation, proactivity and strategic leadershipThese are people and positions that should see their salary increased ”, says João Nunes – Managing director of Michael Page and Page Executive in Mexico and Central America.

While the industries that will have an increase by 2022 are technology (increases that can go up to 20%) and the pharmaceutical industry (can reach increases of 10%), points out the Salary Study of Mexico and Central America of this firm .

And also the positions that have had the greatest salary increase in 2021 have been people related to the digitization of companies or technology, not only in technology companies but in general.

“Today what we see at the Pagege Group level is digitization, the use of platforms, how we interact with consumers and with distribution channels, mainly in e-commerce, will increase,” says Nunes.

Jobs Central America

It was observed that between Tech and digitization positions have seen higher pay increases in 2021. But another of the findings that were seen in the Study in terms of salaries in Central America is that today the most demanded positions and with salary increases are directors of technology, everything related to data, and areas of operations, financial and management industries. .

For the Page Group spokesperson: “Something we observe is that companies are looking more at Central American talent who have skills and competencies such as: emotional intelligence, adaptation, proactivity and strategic leadership; These conclusions that we can see in the region are very interesting since they have reacted very well to the pandemic and allowed to act to the same type of need of that profile, of competition, which the most advanced markets in the world have ”.

It was observed that a company and several different sectors that did not manage to increase their proactivity, are companies that ended up lowering the salary of their employees or closing because they could not be competitive, the companies that managed to be competitive the trend would not be to lower wages.

There are sectors or companies that have more manual jobs, currently there is a trend towards the extinction of jobs rather than a drop in wages, adds the firm.

In general, the data of the Study indicate that all the talent of upper and middle managers have not been affected much by unemployment due to the pandemic, the market in Central America is a fairly wide market, something considerable has not been seen in this matter.
