Krisein Barretto has been in the TV scene for a while, with a few films under her belt. She recently sat down with Shardul Pandit on his podcast to talk about her friend, the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Krisein also shared some surprising stories about her pet dog and her connection with Sushant.
Unlocking Animal Communication
Krisein revealed that she took a course in animal communication, which is a three-day program taught by a teacher who works with the government. She found out about the course through a friend and discovered that it’s all about telepathy – a skill that everyone has, but rarely uses. Krisein claims to have communicated with an elephant, many cats and dogs, and even a plant.
Shardul asked Krisein if she ever tried talking to Sushant’s dog, but she admitted that she never had the courage to do so. Krisein explained that as an actor, she’s been trolled for expressing her feelings and paying tribute to Sushant. In the entertainment industry, it seems that showing emotions can be a double-edged sword – if you don’t post about someone’s passing, you’re criticized, and if you do, you’re accused of seeking attention.
Standing Up for Sushant Came at a Cost
Krisein confessed that speaking out about Sushant put her career and life at risk. Many producers refused to work with actors who supported Sushant, and Krisein was no exception. She lost out on work and faced backlash, but she insists that she’d do it all again for her friends. Shardul pointed out that some celebrities exploited Sushant’s death for their own gain, while those who genuinely cared for him were criticized and silenced.
Krisein recalled attending Sushant’s prayer meeting, where she was expected to keep a low profile. Instead, she showed up, emotional and honest, and was subsequently trolled for it. People expected her to prioritize her work over her grief, but Krisein chose to be true to herself and her friend.
A Prayer for Sushant
Krisein believes that Sushant gave her the strength to stand up for him, even when it was difficult. She hopes that he’s finally at peace and that his friends will continue to support each other. For Krisein, the experience was a reminder that true friends will always have each other’s backs, no matter what the cost.
