Komon closes a $2 million funding round

Komona platform where artists of all kinds can launch an online community accessible through the purchase of NFTs, closes a pre-seed financing round of 2 million dollars (1.86 million euros).

Among the investors that have participated are the venture capital funds Samaipata, Adara Ventures, Inveready and Shilling. They have also had several business angels with extensive experience in the world of Web3 and the management of content creators and artists.

Based in Madrid, the company is led by Sebastián Fernández-Medrano, who spent seven years in venture capital, as former director of Samaipata, a CV that invests in digital platforms, and computer scientist Manuel Bevilacqua, who worked on Capchase and Returnly. Both founders share their passion for art. Fernández-Medrano is a trained actor and Bevilacqua was a professional violinist.

“Most of our friends and loved ones are artists and we have experienced firsthand how difficult it is to make a living from their work. That’s why we’ve always wanted to launch a company at the intersection of creativity and technology.”
