KKR problems escalate ahead of IPL 2023, this veteran bowler got injured after Iyer

There is not much time left for the start of the (IPL) 2023 season, but before that, the problems of the Kolkata Knight Riders team are not going to end. Previously, the team was facing a problem due to captain Shreyas Iyer’s back injury, while now the news of fast bowler Lockie Ferguson’s injury also increased the team’s concern.

In fact, the New Zealand team is scheduled to contest a 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka starting on March 25, the first match in which Lockie Ferguson has been ruled out through injury. Lockie had to participate alone in this match, after which he was about to leave for his country to participate in the IPL.

Lockie Ferguson’s fitness test was conducted before the start of the Sri Lanka ODI series, thus he failed to pass it. Ferguson had to be ruled out due to a strained hamstring. However, so far New Zealand have not announced the name of any replacement player for the first ODI in his place.

In the upcoming IPL season, the Kolkata Knight Riders team will start their campaign with the match against Punjab Kings on April 2. However, before this, the franchise will also have to announce the name of the new captain in place of Shreyas Iyer, as it is almost impossible for Iyer to play this season due to a back injury.

On the other hand, speaking of Lockie Ferguson, he was part of the Gujarat Titans team that won the trophy last season, who was traded by Kolkata Knight Riders to Gujarat Titans. Ferguson had thrown the fastest ball of the previous season, which was pitched at a velocity of 157.3.
