Kilde achieves his third victory in the Super-G

The Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Kilde achieved his third victory this season in the World Cup this Sunday and his second consecutive victoryahead of the Swiss Marco Odermatt, the super-giant disputed in the American station of Beaver Creek.

The day after winning the descent on the same ‘Birds of Prey’ track, Kilde, 30, signed his sixteenth victory of his life in the World Cup (eighth in Super-G), a circuit whose absolute overall he won in 2020 . He also has in his possession the Super-G crystal globes of 2016 and 2022 and of that same discipline and descent last year.

The Norwegian skier won in Beaver Creek with a time of 1:10.73 minutes and was 20 hundredths ahead of his great rival so far this season, Marco Odermatt, with which the victories are shared: the Helvetian won the giant in Soelden (Austria) and the super-giant in Lake Louise (Canada) and Kilde did it in the first two descents, in Lake Louise and, this Saturday, in Beaver Creek.

The podium, 30 hundredths behind Kilde, was closed by Alexis Pinutault in the first podium of the campaign for the French super champion.

Odermatt leads the overall for the 2022/2023 World Cup with 420 points, 40 more than Kilde. In Super-G, and after two races in the modality, the two skiers are tied for the lead with 180 units.

Next week the circuit travels to Europe for the dispute of two tests in the French resort of Val d’Isére: a giant (the second of the course) and the first slalom of the season.
