AICC organizing secretary KC Benugopal announced this decision at the Congress headquarters in Delhi on Thursday. He was accompanied by Randeep Surjewala, AICC leader in charge of Karnataka.

After announcing the decision of the Congress, the 76-year-old Siddaramaiah said in response to the questions of the reporters, “What has been said by the party, I also like it.” Nothing else to say beyond that.

Sivakumar tweeted. It read below a photo of party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Siddaramaiah, Karnataka’s future secured. The welfare of the people of the state is our priority. We are united to ensure that.

Both Benugopal and Surjewala said Sivakumar would be the only Deputy Chief Minister. But at the same time, he will remain in the position of state president. They said that Lok Sabha polls will be held next year. In view of that, Shivakumar is being retained as the state president. At the party’s plenary session in Jaipur, however, the policy of ‘one person one post’ was adopted.
