Julio Rodríguez, Teoscar and Diego Castillo receive the yes for the World Baseball Classic

The words of Jerry Dipoto, president of operations for the Seattle Mariners, grabbed headlines around the world after the news that pitcher Luis Castillo will not participate in the World Baseball Classic with the Dominican Republic team.

The executive made it known that it was a “joint choice” with the pitcher so that he stays in spring training, thus continuing his offseason preparation.

Despite the discontent that this decision creates, Dipoto gave the information that Julio Rodríguez, reigning American League Rookie of the Year, outfielder Teoscar Hernández and reliever Diego Castillo, they had received the yes to attend the great event.

It is to be expected that both Rodríguez and Hernández appear as star outfielders of the selection that the Caribbean country can finally present, while Castillo appears as an important arm of the bullpen.

Likewise, Dipoto provided the information that Eugenio Suárez has the green light to join the Venezuelan World Cup team, Harry Ford the same with the United Kingdom, as well as Matt Festa (Italy) and Matt Brash (Canada).
