Juan Carlos Suárez triumphs again at the Open Cemetery

Juan Carlos Suárez vuelve a triunfar en el Cementerio Open

Juan Carlos Suárez emulated his feat of 2019 by proclaiming himself champion of the XII Cementerio Open, in Division I, the highest level of the event, by beating Arturo Sanz in the final with a score of 9-8 in a close match that ended the 2022 edition of the most popular amateur tennis tournament in the Dominican Republic.

The clay courts of the CEC had quality tennis throughout the month of May with the performance of more than 200 veteran tennis players who competed to win the highest honors of this edition.

The director of the tournament, Manuel Valenzuela, was once again grateful for the support received from the tennis players, the public and the sponsors who once again gave great support to the event.

“This edition like each previous one we have surpassed the others. I am honestly surprised with the high level of the players in each category and how more and more they value this tournament as their tournament and the one they look forward to the most every year. We are going to continue striving so that the hallmark continues to be organization and respect for sport”, Valenzuela said.

Likewise, the director of the event added “thank you all for the support and mainly to our sponsors who believe in this event every year. Without them, players wouldn’t feel as welcome. I also thank the staff who accompanied me for four long months, in order to prepare, develop and close this 2022 edition. Thank you all and see you in 2023”.

In division II, the champion was Raymundo Féliz, who defeated Escarly Pilier 9-5 in the final, while in division III José Cortina triumphed by beating Carlos Guzmán 9-6 in the final.
