The leader of the Tigres del Licey champions, Jose Antonio Offermanhas been hired by the Dolphins of La Guairaa team belonging to the Major League of Professional Baseball of Venezuela, to be the foreman of said group in the next baseball season of that country. Offerman, 54, holds three titles in the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League with the so-called “Kings of the Caribbean”, in addition was selected as Manager of the Year corresponding to the 2022-23 championship at the official Lidom award ceremony. The veteran coach led the Tigers to a season in which they matched the win mark for a 50-game campaign with the Toros del Este, a squad that earned 34 wins in the 2019-20 campaign. His Caribbean Series crown was the fourth time that Licey won the Caribbean classic on Venezuelan soil, but the first to do so with a Dominican making the decisions on the playing field. Previously, the Tigers had won the editions held in Venezuela in Caracas 1973 (Tom LaSorda, 5-1), Caracas 1977 (Bob Rogers, 6-0) and Puerto La Cruz 1994 (Casey Parsons, 5-1). Offerman also joined the exclusive circle of managers with at least three crowns along with Félix Fermín (6), Felipe Alou (4), Manny Mota (4) and Audo Vicente. However, he is the only one to have done it in three different decades: 2008-2009, 2013-2014 and 2022-23.
