Javier Hernanz became the new president of the Spanish Canoeing Federation (RFEP) this Wednesday, after winning the motion of censure presented against the previous person in charge, the Andalusian Pedro Pablo Barrios, who was elected on February 14.
The RFEP Assembly supported the motion of the Asturian Javier Hernanz with the support of 57 of the 66 assembly members, 6 abstentions and 3 blank votes, cast by electronic voting system at the headquarters of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE).
Olympic in Athens 2004 and Rio 2016, Javier Hernanz was a candidate in the last elections in which Barrios was elected president with 52 votes compared to the 48 achieved by the Asturian and replaced Juan José Román Mangas (2009-2021).
