This week, the statement of NASA (NASA) agency said that space agencies around the world are considering the issue of how to determine the method of time measurement on the moon.
Pietro Giordano, the agency’s navigation systems engineer, said the idea came up during a meeting in the Netherlands last year.
According to him, the experts present at the meeting agreed to find a common reference for measuring time on the moon. Giordano said in a statement that there is a global concerted effort to achieve this goal.

Officials of the European Space Agency say that in the current situation, when many private companies, including several countries, are preparing to send missions to the moon and NASA wants to send astronauts there, the moon’s own time zone will make it easier for everyone.
NASA wants to solve the puzzle of time during the planning and construction of the new International Space Station.
Space stations do not have their own time zone, although they generally operate according to Universal Time, or UTC. UTC measures time using atomic clocks. UTC allows NASA, the Canadian Space Agency, and other partner space programs in Russia, Japan, and Europe to measure time in different time zones.
According to the European Space Agency, an international team working on the issue of lunar time is considering a proposal that the services of setting and measuring time on the moon should be handed over to a single agency.
According to the agency, there are some complications in this case, like time travels faster on the moon than on Earth. In this case, 56 microseconds are added every day. Also, the movement of clocks on the Moon is different from that on Earth.
Bernhard Hofbach from the agency said that the most important thing is that this time zone should be useful for astronauts on lunar missions. NASA is planning to send its next mission to the moon in 2024, with the mission expected to land on the moon by 2025.
Hofbach said in his statement that one day on the Moon is equal to 29.5 days on Earth, so it would be no less than a tough test, but once the lunar hours were determined, the same could be applied to other planets.
