LPI 2023: Today at IPL 2023, the Mumbai Indians team will once again take the field to secure a place in the final. The Mumbai Indians team, captained by Rohit Sharma, has so far been able to capture the Indian Premier League trophy five times. The team is now only two steps away from its sixth title. The way Mumbai Indians beat Lucknow Supergiants in the IPL Eliminator to reach Qualifier 2, expect a similar game once again. This time the path to the final is not so easy. But today is a very auspicious day for Mumbai Indians in terms of IPL. Exactly 10 years ago on this day, the Indians of Mumbai created history. Mumbai Indians themselves and their fans hope that today it will be the same again as it was ten years ago.

Mumbai Indians won the first IPL title ten years ago on May 26, 2013.

Today is May 26, 2023. Exactly ten years ago, May 26, 2013 was the day when Mumbai Indians won the first IPL title for the first time. Although the team had been playing IPL since 2008, the title did not come until five years later. Before it wasn’t that big players and veterans didn’t play for the team, but as soon as the captaincy came into the hands of Rohit Sharma, the team started looking so strong that all the other teams fell behind. In 2013, among the four teams that made it to the playoffs, CSK was number one with 22 points. After this, Mumbai Indians with 22 points and Rajasthan Royals with 20 points and Sunrisers Hyderabad with 20 points were among the top 4 teams. The team reached the final and had a title match with KKR there. They had previously won the 2012 IPL title. In the final, Mumbai Indians faced CSK, captained by MS Dhoni, who had also won the trophy earlier.

Mumbai Indians defeated CSK by 23 in the final

In the 2013 IPL final, Mumbai Indians scored 148 runs in the allotted 20 overs while batting first. It was a small score and by the end of the first few innings no one thought MI would win the title. Chennai Super Kings bowler Dwayne Bravo had broken MI’s back in some way. He took four wickets for 42 runs in four overs. Now CSK needed just 149 runs to win another IPL title. But from the beginning, CSK kept going out one by one. Mike Hussey scored a run. Players like Suresh Raina and S Badrinath couldn’t even open their account. Ravindra Jadeja and Chris Morris were also out for nil. Although captain MS Dhoni definitely played an explosive innings of 63 runs from 45 balls. It included five sixes and three fours. But the whole team together could only manage 125 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs and the Mumbai Indians won the match by 23 runs and captured the title.
