IPL set to become the richest league in the sports world, BCCI has so far earned a cap of Rs 46 billion

BCCI is set to earn Rs 4,4075 crore through IPL TV and digital rights, making it one of the richest leagues in the world of sport. According to the information received so far, Package A (Indian subcontinent TV rights) for 410 IPL matches between 2023 and 2027 was sold for Rs 23,575 crore i.e. Rs 57.5 crore per match.

The digital rights for the Indian subcontinent were sold for Rs 50 crore per match, which was bought by one of the bidders after facing the challenge of getting Package A. Rs 20.5 crore of Package B has been received, that is Say, after selling two packs, Rs 44075 crore landed on the BCCI exchange. When the auction stopped on the second day, a bid of two billion rupees had been made for Package C. Now, on the third day, the bidding will be done from the front.

So far, the board has earned Rs 46,000 crore, which is two and a half times more than the Rs 16,347 crore received in 2018. The base price for TV was Rs 49 million and for digital rights Rs 33 million.

A BCCI source said: “We are approaching $5.5 billion. Getting Rs 50 crore per match for digital rights is a big deal. The auction ended today at 6pm and we are currently in Package C which includes the ‘non-exclusive’ digital rights to 98 games for five years.Then there will be Package D, which is for foreign television and digital rights.
