For Sunrisers Hyderabad fast bowler Umran Malik, IPL 2022 is passing by as nothing less than a golden dream. Umran Malik, popularly known as Jammu Express, has taken 21 wickets in 13 matches this season. He also showed the speed of himself against the Mumbai Indians on Tuesday and took three important wickets. Following this, Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson made a huge statement about Umran Malik.
Kane Williamson called fast pitcher Umran Malik an additional weapon on his team. However, this talented young player has proven costly many times in the current season of the Indian Premier League. Umran Malik took three wickets for 23 runs in his three overs against Mumbai. He threw the fastest pitch of the season at a speed of 157 kmph which created quite a stir in the cricket world. He sacked Mumbai starter Ishan Kishan, Daniel Sams and Tilak Verma.
Williamson said Umran was instrumental in Hyderabad’s three-run victory against Mumbai on Tuesday. He further said, “Umran Malik’s bowling has been excellent. He has tried to give his best in every match. Also, the way he bowls has been really commendable. Batsmen are always under pressure with their bowling. It is a true strength and an additional weapon for our team.
Hitters Priyam Garg and Rahul Tripathi also topped the table with scores of 42 and 76 respectively and Williamson said they are players who have a lot of future opportunities for the franchise. He said: “Priyam is a brilliant batsman. This form of him can give him chances for the future.” Hyderabad may have been out of the playoff race, but their death bowling was excellent and Williamson on Tuesday credited his players for the victory.
On the decision to give the ball to Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the 19th over, Williamson said: “I think giving him the ball has been beneficial for the team. He didn’t give a single run in this over and also took a wicket. Our death bowling That has been our true strength. Williamson said that “we found a way to win, where we were successful.
