Some users, including me, have found that they cannot unlock iPhone 13 with Apple Watch because they get an error.
As the first iPhone 13s starts to reach users, some are having trouble activating the unlock functionality with the Apple Watch.
Apparently, this error only affects the new iPhone 13 and, at the moment, it is not known what the origin might be. In my case, I had this problem with iPhone 13 Pro.
Every time you try to enable unlocking with Apple Watch on iPhone, I get an error “Unable to communicate with Apple Watch” even though the watch receives notifications and works perfectly.
Unpairing the Apple Watch doesn’t solve the problem, nor does a factory reset on both devices.
Hopefully Apple will fix the problem soon, as using the Apple Watch to unlock the iPhone with a mask is very comfortable.
