Interpol detains in Spain a Dominican wanted for homicide

The National Police detained in Palma, Spain, an international fugitive wanted for homicide. The 41-year-old man, of Dominican origin, had an international arrest warrant filed by the Dominican authorities.

As reported this Thursday by the National Police in a statement, the body’s fugitive location group learned that a man who was being sought by the authorities of the Dominican Republic and who should be arrested for extradition for homicide was in Palm.

For this reason, agents of the Organized Crime and International Crime group of the National Police began an investigation to find out the whereabouts of the man, in which they were able to discover that he was in a house located in the Bons Aires neighborhood.

The agents requested an entry warrant and with the support of the Prevention and Reaction Units (UPR) accessed the property and confirmed that the fugitive was there, for which they proceeded to arrest him.

According to the complainant authorities, on February 27 in Santo Domingo the fugitive had an argument with another man and, at one point, used a firearm and fired several shots, wounding a woman.

Now the alleged perpetrator has been made available to the National Court.
