Inter is still bad; tie with Milan

Inter’s lousy month continued on Tuesday with a 0-0 draw against Milan, their hometown rival, in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final.

Inter have just one win in their last seven in all competitions since the start of February. During this run the defending Serie A champions fell from the top of the league and lost 2-0 at home to Liverpool in the first leg of the Champions League.

It will be revealed in addition to the fourth consecutive game in which Inter did not score. The Nerazzurri have played more than 400 minutes without remembering the nets.

Both teams had a chance to score at the San Siro and although neither goalkeeper was really in trouble, Samir Handanovic had to save Inter with a hand, after a shot from Rafael Leão early in the extra period.

Milan have not won the Cup in nearly two decades — since 2003 — while Inter have not advanced beyond the semi-finals since winning the last of their seven titles in 2011.

The Milan sides drew 1-1 in November in the first Serie A derby of the season. Three weeks ago in the league, Oliver Giroud scored a brace in Milan’s 2-1 win over Inter.

Juventus, defending Cup champion, visits Fiorentina this Wednesday in the other semi-final.

The return duels are scheduled for April 20 and the final on May 11.
