The Instagram social network is studying new ways to monetize content on the platform. This time with a function called gifts, which will allow users to support their favorite creators with tips through reels. Thus, they are currently working on a function with which gifts can be sent to the creators of this video content.

Fans will be able to send gifts

This dynamic has already been set up in a similar way on other social platforms, such as TikTok. In their streams, creators can enable the ability for followers to send gifts. Of course, it is a system that allows users to choose between different options and gifts.

The Meta team has been inspired by this function, allowing you to send gifts, although in this case it will be something only available to creators of Reels in the app. To launch it, the creators will have to meet some requirements to receive the money. For now it is not known what criteria the social network will require.

This new feature is part of an internal test. So we have to wait for future updates to find out if it will remain an experiment, or if Instagram will implement it in the app for all users.
