The National Council for Children and Adolescents (Conani) and the Price Stabilization Institute (INESPRE) signed an agreement with the aim of continuing to guarantee high-quality food to children and adolescents protected by the State.
The agreement signed by the executive president of Conani, Ana Cecilia Morún, and the director of INESPRE, Iván Hernández Guzmán, will allow the purchase of food products at low costs, which translates into well-being for minors who are in the homes of step, as well as increasing the efficiency of public spending for that concept.
The Conani president indicated that “The signing of this agreement represents a great step for this Conani administration, since it is part of the internal transformation processes that we are carrying out to carry out, in an increasingly efficient way, our mission of guaranteeing the fundamental rights of children and adolescents in the Dominican Republic”.
Ana Cecilia Morun reported that Conani currently makes a large investment to meet the needs of more than 400 children who currently assist in all their needs, including health, psychological and other services.
For his part, the director of INESPRE highlighted the importance for the Government and for him of meeting the needs of society in terms of food, especially the most vulnerable sectors of society, including children and adolescents. .
“It is a pleasure to have signed this agreement with Conani, an entity that carries out important work in favor of Dominican children. This institution brings back pleasant memories, since it was founded by my grandmother Renée Klang de Guzmán in 1979, when she was first lady, and since then it has provided assistance to this important and vulnerable sector of society that is childhood. that represents the future of the country"Hernandez Guzman said.
Both officials stressed that the work of Conani since its inception was taken as a model in countries such as Mexico, Brazil and Argentina.
The signing of the agreement took place at the Conani National Office, where representatives of the administrative and legal departments of both institutions were also present.
