India’s biggest defense deal with a major country is in jeopardy

India’s biggest defense deal with the Philippines is in jeopardy. The Philippines has also expressed grave concern after the missile was dropped on Pakistan.

According to Indian media, the Philippines has demanded an explanation from India regarding the shooting down of missiles in Pakistan. The senior Philippine minister and defense secretary has summoned the Indian ambassador and demanded an answer on the incident.

The Indian ambassador said that an investigation was underway into the accidental fall of a missile in Pakistan which would be shared with the Philippines.

The Philippines has signed a 37 375 million deal with India to buy BrahMos missiles.

It may be recalled that on March 9, a supersonic missile had landed in Pakistan at a distance of 250 km from India. The Indian missile had landed in Pakistan while flying at an altitude of 40,000 feet. India called it an “accident” in its statement.

While Pakistan has demanded from the United Nations to investigate the issue of Indian missiles. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said that India should explain how the missile landed inside Pakistan’s borders.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry also responded to the incident of Indian missile crash in Pakistan and called on the two countries to hold talks and negotiations soon.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the incident of Indian missile crash in Pakistan was known and the two countries should discuss and review the issue.

China had said that India and Pakistan should hold talks and investigate the missile crash and share information about the incident, as well as work out a reporting mechanism so that such an incident does not happen again.
