India’s announcement of huge investment in Sri Lanka

New Delhi: The Indian government has announced that it will continue to invest huge amounts of money for the economic assistance of its neighboring country, Sri Lanka.

In this regard, the High Commissioner of India posted in Sri Lanka says that India’s neighboring country is suffering from the worst economic crisis in the last seven decades, this year India has provided financial assistance of about four billion dollars.

Foreign news agencies Reuters reports According to the Indian official said that support to Sri Lanka will continue.

According to the report, India does not intend to provide fresh financial assistance to Sri Lanka as Sri Lanka’s battered economy begins to stabilize after an initial loan agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

In the statement of the Indian Affairs Minister, it has been said that development projects worth 3.5 billion dollars are currently underway in Sri Lanka by India. Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe also says that these projects should be completed as soon as possible.

In addition, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe has said in a statement that Sri Lanka will transform the Free Trade Agreement with India into a comprehensive economic and technological partnership.
